The new Optimum 6.25 inch Microfiber Polishing Pads are made with a thick, reticulated open-cell foam structure and offer a thicker Microfiber material than the original BETA polishing pads.
The thick, open cell-foam structure helps to disperse heat and keep the pads running cooler. The 6.25″ pads will fit all 6″ backing plates perfectly without running the risk of the backing plate being to close the edge of the pad.
Machine washable and may be used with both DA & Rotary polishers!
A little product goes a long way when polishing with Microfiber pads. Apply a small amount of product in circular or cross patterns on the pad surface for even coverage. Or lightly mist entire pad surface if using Optimum Hyper Compound. Set polisher to a low or moderate speed and begin to polish the paint surface. We recommend a moderate pressure and an even coverage on a 2′ x 2′ section until desired results are achieved. The product should be worked into the painted surface until only a light haze of product is remaining. When the pad surface becomes dry, lightly spur it using the DA Microfiber Pad Conditioning Brush. This will clean the excess of dried product from the pad and revitalize the fibers. Reapply a light amount of product and repeat the same steps on other sections on your vehicle. When your pad becomes loaded with an abundance of dried product or becomes visibly over-saturated, it is time to switch the pad with a clean one.
Caring for your new Optimum Microfiber pad investment is very important. Do not over saturate your pad surface with product. For best results frequently spur your Microfiber pad surface with our Microfiber Pad Conditioning Brush. Discontinue use of pad and switch to a clean when it becomes loaded with excessive dried product or is visually starting to become over saturated. For washing the pads we recommend using a washing machine with the gentle or delicate cycle with warm water and the Micro-restore Microfiber Detergent. We recommend washing the Microfiber pads in a separate load from other towels. Soaking and hand washing may be used for washing smaller amounts of pads. Air dry only – do not use a dryer. Always make sure your pads are completely dried before reusing after washing.
